In a world where people are more mindful about sustainability, product quality and durability became a very important thing to consider when shopping. Sometimes investing in one piece is worth more than buying hundreds of different ones throughout life.
Don’t take me wrong, I’m very budget-friendly and I see no need to go beyond Target, H&M or Zara to purchase seasonal fashion trends or things like T-shirts, leggings or some accessories, for example.
But one thing I’ve learned from building my wardrobe is that some items are worth spending a little extra, especially staples that are atemporal and classic.
Quality Pair of Jeans
It doesn’t matter how many pairs of jeans you have in your closet, you need at least one that perfectly dresses you and compliments your figure.
A good quality pair of jeans is made from a stronger, heavier weight type of denim, which makes it look and fit better. It will also hold it shape longer meaning less washing!
So, next time you’re browsing a sales rack of jeans, get your hands on the fabric. It’s just like shopping for sheets, a high thread count is a sign of good quality fabric.
Well Fitting Blazer
A well-fit blazer is a powerful fashion weapon. It makes jeans look more dressy, party dresses polished, can bestow a boyish figure with curves, or even make those extra pounds disappear. Look around for the perfect one and have it tailored if necessary.
A leather jacket is a must-have for cooler seasons. You can style a leather jacket with almost everything, from a white t-shirt to a silk dress, and you’ll get a modern and fresh look. And due to its durability, you can grow your collection with time.
But if you don’t want to splurge on it due to ethical beliefs or wallet limitations, there are many good stylish faux leather jackets out there.
One of the most classic wardrobe staples, the trench coat is the perfect solution when you don’t know what coat to wear, it complements most of the outfits and will never get out of style, though it is reinvented from time to time.
A trench coat is a great option to bring along on trips to cooler places, and my favorite thing about it: I love how it shapes my waste when belted!
The Little Black Dress (LBD)
You don’t know how much you need it until you have a last minute invitation to a party or a date. The LBD will always be there for you, and all you need to do is style it with some of the items listed here!
Good Quality Fitting Bra
I don’t know about you, but I’m not in my early 20s anymore, and I need a comfy and well fitting bra.
Chose either nude or black, and these cuties will get you covered with any style, from a pair of boyfriend jeans to a cocktail dress, classic pumps are always the best choice when in doubt.
I love shades and my collection has from super expensive designer to others purchased at Target, for example. So, trust me when I say you need at least one statement pair of sunglasses, it will make the most simple outfit look expensive.
Chose a chic timeless style, and take good care of it!
If you want to upgrade your look, add a signature pair of earrings and you’ll note the difference right away. And if you are looking to invest in jewelry, look for pieces that you love so much that you think you can use it every day. Extra bonus if they’re timeless and classic, this way, you can use for any occasion and season.
Statement Handbag | Good Quality Bag
I think we all agree that accessories can polish an outfit, and nothing does it better than a statement handbag. If you have the right one you can go from a job interview to have drinks with friends and it will fit perfectly on both occasions.
If you are either looking to start a collection, or buying only one, give preference to neutral colors so that it can match with everything, and start with a medium size bag.
